Independent developers rarely need a vast marketing platform. They want to send a signup confirmation, an invoice, an alert or a login link. What they need is a reliable service, simple to integrate, and cheap enough to carry a project through its early days.

Spore was built for that: sending the messages a service needs to function, without bolting a commercial machine onto every user.

Frugal communication

An email address should not automatically become a marketing opportunity. When someone creates an account, makes a purchase or asks for a password reset, they expect the information they asked for. Nothing else.

Messages go out because they serve a precise purpose. They confirm an action, carry information, keep a service working. They are not a pretext for a stream of follow-ups.

Spore is not trying to send more messages. It is trying to send the necessary ones better.

Infrastructure we control

The sending infrastructure is ours: the server, the IP address, the message signing. Your domains stay yours — you attach them, you keep control of them, and you leave with them if you decide to.

This is not a claim to live without any intermediary. It is about taking back control of an essential function — the one without which a service simply stops talking to its users.

An economic reality

A freelancer or a small software vendor should not pay for a full marketing suite when what they want is sending infrastructure. Spore focuses on the essentials: domains, sending identities, deliverability, and a simple integration into an application.

That is a limit we accept. If you want automated sequences, contact scoring or segmented campaigns, this is not the place. Other tools do that very well, and it is not what we are building.

For a service just starting out, what matters is simple: the message arrives through frugal, ethical infrastructure you control.
